Kay Anderson is an acclaimed Author, Fashion Designer who has lectured Internationally. Following a  degree course in Birmingham England, her background was originally couture and upmarket ready to wear.

Subsequent years in the fashion industry as a designer and pattern cutter for the mass market included, head designer for Lerose International Jersey Wear, Swallow rain wear and children’s party wear for multiples such as M&S.

After spending a year at Coventry Technical College lecturing full time on the many aspects of the fashion industry Kay worked as fashion & education consultant to a major world wide haberdashery company. She  designed educational leaflets and set design projects and competitions for young fashion designers.

I the 90’s Kay ran her own company “Woven Treasure” which specialised in beautiful children’s wear and exquisite Christening Robes including a range of specially designed embroidered gifts, these were sold in London, Norway and Los Angeles.

Kay developed her interest in design to included many textile arts, one of these interests - ribbon textiles - can almost be described as her own invention. From seeing a simple ribbon-weaving sample in one colour she has developed an amazing range of weaves and patterns all originating from her love of colour and rich texture.

Her book “The Magic of Ribbon” published by Nexus Special Interest, has sold world wide to excellent revues and is a treasure trove of ideas designed to give inspiration to the experienced and beginner alike.

Some of her work is owned by Royalty and celebrities, such as Tina Turner, for whom Kay produced a specially embroidered commission.
